The first recorded use of deer velvet as a medicine dates back more than two thousand years and is documented on a silk scroll that listed more than 50 diseases for which it was prescribed. Though the years, research has continued, and more than 300 papers have been published documenting the composition and medicinal qualities of different sections of the antler, as well as the preparations that provide the most beneficial use.
The vital nutrients that are found in our proprietary formula are derived from the most highly regarded Chinese tonic, deer velvet. Deer velvet is named after the soft velvet-like covering on the antlers while they are growing. We use only the soft tender section of the tips, which are regarded to be superior in quality – hence, the term tender deer velvet.
